A Bubbly Bachelorette

I hosted a bachelorette party at the Humphrey House this weekend that was appropriately themed: Bubbles.

Pictured center is the "Guest Bottle," a bottle of champs coated in regular black acrylic paint -- not chalkboard paint -- and then signed with metallic Sharpies.

A dozen girls spent the afternoon exploring the wineries in Augusta, Missouri and then headed back to the house (via one party bus and courtesy of one VERY understanding driver) for dinner and gifts. And an impromptu dance party. And a spiffy little new sparkling cocktail by our friend Claire's invention that involved champagne and a now-defunct Austrian energy drink she found in my pantry. (I regret nothing! Just kidding. There were regrets.)

Thankfully, only the former was meticulously documented:

My friend Julie organized the entire event and I mostly provided the location and played with her baby while she executed the decor, truth be told. I think our collaboration turned out pretty nicely:

Here's a DIY on the balloon "bubble" wall we created behind the champagne bar and for the streamers we hung across the island.

Here's me with her baby.

There are more showers and shindigs coming up, and I'm always looking for a fun theme. Got any go-to favorites? Leave 'em in the comments!
